So Jennifer Lopez's new movie The Boy Next Door opened at box office theaters on Friday, January 23, 2015. Jennifer Lopez aka JLo did an amazing job promoting the movie on various talk shows. The movie features JLo who plays a school teacher named Claire, Ryan Guzman who is a high school student at the school JLo's character teaches at and Guzman is the boy next door. Also starring in the movie is Hill Harper who plays the school principal, and Kristen Chenoweth who plays the vice-principal and who is good friends with JLo's character Claire. The movie is about a single mother who is left to raise her kid without the father being present on a regular basis and Claire still longs for her cheating husband. Her good friend tries to hook her up with a guy but that doesn't work. Claire (JLo) winds having a one night stand with the neighbor who just can't seem to get enough of her. It's sort of like one of those situations where a girl has sex with a guy one time, and after that he simply will not leave her alone because he wants more. As boring as this may sound it is more to the movie than just that but I do not want to spoil it for you. The sex scene was probably the most talked about scene leading up to the release of the movie. That scene itself was like seeing JLo like never before.
When Jennifer Lopez appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael, Michael Strahan made a comment to JLo saying "and that was all you." From what I can tell yes that was all JLo from head to toe. Ryan Guzman must have had his share of fun making the movie. At one point in the movie Jennifer Lopez even walks around with a two piece lingerie outfit on and some leopard print stilettos. Aside from the sexuality of the movie, it is sensuous, there are some thriller 'gotcha' moments, and a high speed scene to keep your adrenaline flowing. If you liked Jennifer Lopez's "Booty" music video with Iggy Azalea then you will like the sex scene in the The Boy Next Door. The clips that make up the scene in the movie is way better than the music video.
According to Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus - "The Boy Next Door may get a few howls out of fans of stalker thrillers, but for most viewers, it won't even rise to "so bad it's good" status."
Roger Ebert said - "The cheese is thick and it smothers everything in “The Boy Next Door,” but it’s never quite gooey or spicy enough." ... "'The Boy Next Door' has its share of so-bad-they’re-good moments – and details, and chunks of dialogue – but not nearly enough. Mostly, they’re just bad. And it had such potential too, starting with the casting."
Well according to boxoffice.com "'American Sniper' Surpasses $200M Mark After Dominating with $64.6M; 'The Boy Next Door' Debuts with Solid $14.9M; 'Strange Magic' ($5.5M) and 'Mortdecai' ($4.2M) Both Stumble out of the Gate."
Overall, The Boy Next Door ranked second for new movie releases. So how is that for a movie that critics doomed from the start? The Boy Next Door was produced on a $4.0M budget and critics predicted it would only rake in a couple of million more than what it cost to make the movie. All I can say is the movie is a must see and is probably Jennifer Lopez's best acting performance yet. Jennifer Lopez has a net worth of over $300 million and she is by far one of the most influential Latina in America.
